Hello, I'm Daniel Nobre

Experience Design Lead

I've been building experiences for 15 years, from products and services for healthcare at McLaren to Sustainable Energy related products and services at Galp, from fully physical+digital connected customer experiences at Farfetch to service design and products at Visa Europe.

McLaren - BioElectronics

User Research, conceptualisation and design of a whole system (energiser, remote, mobile device app, energiser and/or remote chargers, data communication...) that delivered an holistic final POC that enabled patients to control their conditions' symptoms, specifically pain, via an implant installed on specific nerves (thus reducing or "cutting" the communication with the brain so that the patient does not feel pain).

Farfetch - Store of the Future

User research and design of the end to end experience of the Store of the Future platform, which allows for an omnichannel "Online-Offline-Online" journey via the integration of different types of technology i.e. geolocation services, "smart tags” using motion sensors, accelerometers and machine learning for product recognition.Details

McLaren - OrthoSensor

Development of a POC that allows the tracking (and prediction) of a knee surgery patient's recovery via the usage of two sensors applied to the patient's leg communicating with the patient's mobile app. The app also includes an interactive companion program that physiotherapists can tweak for each patient based on the progression of their recovery.Details

McLaren - BioElectronics (1st iteration)

The "first" iteration of the BioElectronics project, a system meant to provide patients with control over specific symptoms (I.e. pain) of their health conditions. The team did both formative and summative user studies that allowed to identify key pain points, develop a "smoke and mirrors" prototype and test it. The results led the a second "phase" where a POC was developed and tested in multiple cities across the USA.

McLaren - Samsung Oven

Development of a functional prototype in a partnership with Samsung for an oven that had as the main point a feature that allows chefs to assess the food's temperature inside, without having to open the over (all via sensors and an intelligence system). Two other main features were the possibility of putting the pans cooking in whatever position on the cook panel and having the smoke removed by a special air column that produced little to no noise.

Visa Europe - Visa Momentum

Concept for a intelligent integrated service that would offer extreme convenience to customers of stores and coffee places by understanding their behavioural patterns and acting on opportunities (i.e. identifying a customer that buys a coffee every workday at the same time, calculating the time it takes for them to get to the store and trigger a notification in the right time so that the customer has their coffee ready by arrival). Also all the payments could be handled in the background with receipts being delivered digitally (Note: this concept was created even before Apple Pay and UberEats).Details

Uniplaces - Chatbot

Design and development of a chatbot system for the Uniplaces platform, focused on the most recurrent tasks the support line had to handle, thus allowing human employees to dedicate themselves to sorting out actual complex (and urgent) customer issues.Details

McLaren - Railway Connectivity

Dashboard platform that allows technical and maintenance teams to not have to worry about "keeping an eye" constantly on devices on train carriages via predictive systems fed by multiples sources of data, includingg sensors.Details

Farfetch - BuyBuddy

Conceptualisation and design of "smart" tags that allow the tracking of multiple behaviours of products within the space of a store.Details

UK Post Office - Financial Companion Apps

Design and development of two companion mobile apps for the financial branch of the UK Post Office.Details

Hudl - Messaging

Design and development of the messaging system for the Hudl platformDetails

McLaren - Electric Bike (concept)

Concept for an electric bike, created for an internal pitch on behalf of the CEO of McLaren Applied Technology who provided the high level general specs at the time.Details
